CSE records low turnover after several weeks
Indices at the Colombo Stock Exchange lost ground today on low turnover as large cap companies lost ground once more. The day’s turnover of Rs 293 million was the lowest witnessed in the past few days. Daily average turnover in the past two weeks was over Rs 1 billion. Turnover came from DFCC Bank (Turnover of Rs 25 million, share closed down Rs 4.50 to Rs 148.75), First Capital Holdings (Rs 15 million in turnover, share closed unchanged at Rs 20.75) and Hemas Holdings (turnover of Rs 14 million, share closed up 25 cents to Rs 125.25)

Colombo Stock Exchange rebounds strongly in trading
The indices at the Colombo Stock Exchange rebounded strongly with the ASPI closing up 35 points (+1.2 percent) to close at 3,019. The key broader index of all shares was down close to 122 points in early morning trade but bounced back as buying came back into the large cap companies.

London Stock Exchange completes MillenniumIT purchase
London Stock Exchange Group plc (LON:LSE) announced today it has completed its acquisition of MillenniumIT for $US30 million. The transaction will provide the Group with a new, high performance trading platform and an agile, efficient, in-house IT development capability and give MillenniumIT the backing it needs to enable it to develop further its global exchange technology business.

Indices at the Stock Exchange continues to move up
The indices at the Colombo Stock Exchange continued to move up today with turnover over Rs 1 billion mark. The broader market index the ASPI closed at 3,140, a gain of 8 points (+0.3 percent) while the sensitive MPI gained 18 points (+0.5 percent) to close at 3,545.

CSE outstation branches perform well
The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) branches situated outside Colombo has shown significant increases in performance.
